Some things can be dropped off at a blasting shop. A railing bolted into concrete, a pool, a brick wall, structural steel forty feet in the air and a rusted trailer frame cannot. Mobile sandblasting flips the arrangement: the compressor, the media, the water and the containment all arrive on a truck, and the surface gets stripped exactly where it stands. That is how most of our sandblasting work across Toronto and Mississauga actually happens.
People are often surprised there is no drop-off involved at all. The rig is self-contained, so we are not borrowing your power, your water or your garden hose. You point us at the surface, we set up containment, and a coating that has survived twenty years of repainting comes off in an afternoon.
What we blast on site
Railings, fences and gates. Stripped to bare metal in place, ready for primer the same day, with no unbolting and no trips to a shop.
Pools. Media blasting is the clean way to take old paint or scale off concrete and gunite before a repaint or replaster, and a pool is about as immovable as jobs get.
Brick and masonry. Paint removal from brick is delicate work, especially on older Toronto brick, which is why we run wet abrasive at dialled-down pressure instead of dry grit at full blast.
Structural steel. Beams, trusses, crane rails and equipment supports, blasted for inspection or recoating without cutting anything out of the building.
Heavy equipment and machinery. Rust and failed coatings off excavator buckets, attachments, frames and plant equipment, on your yard instead of ours.
Foundations and concrete. Surface prep before waterproofing or coating, where the blast profile decides whether the new coating sticks.
The dust question
Traditional dry blasting throws a cloud you can see from the next block, which is why nobody misses it. Our mobile rigs run dustless: the abrasive is wet, which knocks the dust down at the nozzle before it can travel. That is the difference between blasting beside parked cars, HVAC intakes and a neighbour’s patio, and not being allowed to. We covered the mechanics in our dustless vs. traditional guide, and we handle wash water and residue the way GTA municipal bylaws require.
When mobile sandblasting is not the answer
Interior spaces, production equipment and anything that cannot tolerate media or moisture usually call for dry ice blasting instead, which cleans without leaving anything behind. Fine detail work on smaller metal parts is where laser cleaning earns its keep. Part of the value of calling a company that runs all three is that you get the right method, not the one method we happen to own.
What it costs and how booking works
Pricing comes down to surface area, what the coating is, how it is bonded and how much containment the site needs. Send photos and a rough size through the quote form, or have us walk the site, and you get a straight number before any equipment starts. Most jobs are scheduled within the week, early mornings and weekends included, because a plaza, a pool deck or a working yard cannot shut down whenever it suits us.
Common questions
Do you need power or water from my site?
No. The mobile rig is self-contained: compressor, media, water and containment all arrive on the truck. What we need from you is access to the surface and somewhere to park, and we confirm both before the crew rolls.
Can you sandblast indoors?
Outdoors and semi-open structures are the sweet spot for sandblasting. For interior work, equipment and sensitive substrates we usually switch to dry ice blasting, which leaves no media behind to clean up. We look at the job first and recommend the method that actually fits it.
How do you keep dust off neighbouring property?
Our rigs run wet abrasive, which suppresses the vast majority of airborne dust at the nozzle. We add containment where the site needs it, protect what should not be blasted, and handle cleanup and wash water the way GTA municipal bylaws require.
If you have rust, failed paint or an old coating that needs to come off something that cannot come to us, call (416) 930-1350 or send a photo through the quote form. We will tell you what it takes and what it costs, straight.
